So, one of the things I get asked the most by webcam models is how the holy balls can a girl sell more video clips? As you can imagine, the idea of setting up a well-stocked video store and making daily sales on autopilot sounds really, really good to most camgirls (and camguys).
That’s easier said than done, of course, so an awful lot of sellers are eager to know what they can do to get their fledgling porn clip business off the ground. While there are several different porn video clip sites out there that a model can place her store on, I’m going to focus on the biggest one in terms of traffic right now — Clips4Sale.com.
Okay, so you’ve got yourself lots of video clips edited, polished, and ready to pump out there to the masses of horny pervs looking for some sweet jackoff material, but you haven’t a clue how to get any traffic to make it happen.
You’re going to need to create a video store on a popular clip site, and the one most popular currently is C4S. Clips4Sale.com is where a whole lot of folks have made a crapton of money selling their, um, wares.
I could tell you stories about people bringing in 20, 30, sometimes 40gs per month selling porn videos over there, and the opportunity for especially cam models to dive in and get their share of that money pot is as good as it’s ever been.
Before I go any further, I need to direct you to this awesome Clips4Sale guide that will show you exactly (and I mean EXACTLY) how to go about opening your store and getting comfy on the site. All the details you could possibly need as a beginner are in that article, so definitely check it out.
Once you’ve got your store up and ready to take orders, you’ll be needing eyeballs on your listings, or you’ll end up being able to hear the mosquitoes fart due to lack of activity. Many models complain that their stores on C4S are virtual ghost towns, and often the main reason is that the content in their videos is simply too vanilla for the native clientele.
Learn how much money pornstars make here…the numbers will shock you.
See, one of the ways Clips4Sale got popular in the first place was by offering porn that was a bit off the beaten track, so you should definitely try to produce some edgier stuff for your C4S store if you want to make decent sales.
The kind of things that are popular there would be BDSM, foot fetish, small penis humiliation, balloon popping, giantess femdom, and even blasphemy. Models who pump out these types of fetish-oriented video clips and post new material daily can do well on C4S. If, however, you just can’t get into that level of kink, or don’t have the time to produce porn clips daily, there is another way to get those horny eyeballs into your store!
Getting Pushy On Social Media
One of the most powerful tools any webcam model has at her disposal for purposes of pushing traffic is social media. You’d be surprised how many interested clip buyers you could get into your video store with a well-run Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, or Periscope campaign.
Most webcamming models who try to use their social accounts to push traffic to their Clips4Sale video offers (or any other offer, for that matter), though, usually do it wrong, which totally wastes the opportunity to turn fans into buyers and ends up discouraging the model from trying again.
The main problem that camgirls run into is getting the fan to the actual video store. Of the four social media platforms I mentioned above, only Twitter allows you to post direct links to content offers. On Snapchat, Instagram, and Periscope, you’ve got to be a bit more clever to get your perv brigades to the intended destination.
One of the best ways to push your viewers is to use short redirect domains that these dudes can easily type into their browsers. Long complicated URLs like http://buttlercamlord.com/videos/fetishfunzone.html are a non starter. If you direct your fans to visit a URL like that without a link, you might as well be asking them to donate a testicle for medical research. It’s just not gonna happen, muchachos and muchachettes.
The solution, as I mentioned, is to use a redirect domain. A simple one like “SteamyClips.xxx” is all you need. Now, you don’t need to use a .XXX or a .COM for this, you only need a cheap .xyz (they cost like literally a buck or less at most registrars).
And no, this doesn’t mean you have to set up a website, it just involves registering a domain and doing a copy/paste of your video store URL into the “forwarding” field in the “DNS” section of your registrar’s admin panel. Anybody can do this, it’s as easy as a titty flash, but if you need any help, just contact me and I’ll show you exactly what to do. No problemo.
Once you’ve got your nifty little redirect domain handy, you’ll be able to pop that sucker into any of your promotional social media posts and push traffic like a boss. Because the domain is short and easy to type in, your fans will get to your store quickly and hopefully buy readily.
On Periscope, which is a live streaming app, you’ll have to speak the domain out loud, so be sure it’s easy to understand. With a deliberate marketing effort using your best social media accounts, you could sell quite a few C4S videos and make a pretty penny doing it.
I’ve just scratched the surface on the art of marketing videos to your fan following, so if you want to learn more about how it’s done properly, be sure to check out my Uber Cam Star Webcam Modeling Course for the basic info, and my Uber Cam Star Ninja System for the more advanced material.
